I have always been interested in photographing everything going on around me, and first used a Box Brownie in the early 1960s. But it wasn’t until 2002 that I picked up my first manual SLR, a Nikon FG20, and seriously began to study the technical aspects of photography. Over time, and with some great mentoring by some very experienced photographers, I honed my skills, developing my own style and a lasting passion. I have many photographic interests, including social documentary and all things to do with the natural world. Nothing quite compares to the serenity of setting up a tripod and camera somewhere remote, on a beach or maybe in the desert right in front of our campsite. Time seems to stand still and it is easy to simply get lost in the lens.
